Elissa O’Brien graduated from Victoria University in 1998 with a Masters Degree in Health Science – Osteopathy.
Since then she has studied many short courses at post grad level in Osteopathy in The Cranial Field, treatment of the face, Paediatrics, Pregnancy and her favourite area; Rule of the Artery, the circulatory model of Osteopathic Technique.
Elissa’s special interest is diagnosis, from issues with breast feeding, unsettled babies, ongoing sporting injuries, postural or work related pains, pain and dysfunction in people of all ages. Her application of Osteopathic Diagnostic Reasoning often helps people understand why dysfunctions are not healing.
Elissa has ventured into lecturing at a Post Grad level in the last couple of years and has written and presented her own program to Final Year Students entitled ‘Who you are becoming as an Osteopath’.
Elissa spends her down time with her husband and two daughters, she coaches netball, and enjoys reading, studying anatomy and listening to TEDTalks.
